Athanasios Kotsolis is an ophthalmologist specialized in vitreoretinal diseases. He completed his medical degree in Patras Medical School and his residency in the 1st Department of Ophthalmology of Athens University.
He has a PhD thesis on photodynamic therapy for the treatment of choroidal neovascularization associated with pigment epithelium detachment.
He accomplished his fellowship in medical retina at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, New York, USA, under the supervision of Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi.
From May 2004 until November 2015 he worked at the Retina Service of the 1st Department of Ophthalmology of Athens University.
He is member of the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society, the Greek Vitreo-Retinal Society and the Greek Glaucoma Society.
He has 27 publications (25 pubmed) in international peer review medical journals and 11 in greek medical journals and in proceedings of greek congresses.
He has given 6 lectures and participated in 27 round tables, 7 clinical workshops, 10 presentations and posters in international congresses and 23 presentations in greek congresses.
