Dr Ioannis Tservakis is a consultant surgeon specialized in retinal and macular surgery.
He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed his 4-year ophthalmology training in the State Eye Clinic of General Hospital of Athens, “G.N.A. Gennimatas’’.
In addition to that, he completed his PhD research, and received a Phd title with excellent grade. He has also gained advanced sub specialty training in Vitreoretinal surgery as a fellow, at Europe’s largest teaching hospital, St James University Teaching Hospital in Leeds, UK.
From 2013 until 2024, was appointed and served as a Vitreo-Retinal Consultant surgeon in the “1st University Department of Ophthalmology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens”, having performed numerous cataract as well as vitreoretinal surgeries. Commited to training the future leaders of Medicine, Mr. Tservakis has served as a primary mentor to several trainees and medical students, as well as an educator for ophthalmologists in University Postgraduate Teaching Programmes.
Other areas of his contribution to the field of Ophthalmology include various publications in peer reviewed journals and numerous lectures and presentations with the role of coordinator, guest speaker or wet lab instructor, in national and international Congresses. Conclusively, he was an elected member of the Governing Board of the Hellenic Society of Ophthalmology for four years during the period 2019-2023.
